A diagram of potential solar beam irradiation with a practical format is shown, which allows the determination of the energy of the sun, that falls on a slope with any orientation and inclination within any period of time and any limitation of the horizon. An average transmission of the air is considered by the calculations, but the influence of cloudiness is neglected. Maps of vegetation, of its phenological status and of the insolation demonstrate the dependence of the distribution and the phenological development of plant associations on the insolation. It seems, that phenological development of a single species is more directly related to the insolation than to an average soil temperature (determined by a newly constructed temperature sum counter). Besides of this, water and the periodicity of day length play an important role. |
