Résumé : |
Floral behavior, crossability and pollen/ovule (P/O)ratios of four species of the Ranunculus cantoniensis group in Japan were analyzed to clarify their breeding systems, Petals of R. silerifolius,R. chinensis and R. cantoniensis opened and closed daily, while those of R. tachiroei remained continuously open, The timing of maturation of sexual organs diverged variously: R. silerifolius was syngamous, R. chinensis and R. cantoniensis were protandrous, and R. tachiroei was protogynous. Although the four species were self-compatible, it was presumed that the former three species were self-pollinating, while the latter was cross-pollinated, Hybrids between species and cytotypes may be rare in the first three species because of self-pollination. |
