The examination of Tricharina cretea in the sense of Thind & Waraitch resulted in its description as a new species, published herein as T. indica. T. hiemalis, T. japonica, and T. striispora are described and illustrated with new collections, as well as T. glabra. Tricharina herinkii is redescribed based on the type-collection and on a recent collection. results from these analyses support the erection of the new genus Tricharinopsis, to accommodate this species. The type collection of Humaria flava (syn. Tricharina flava) was examined and compared to T. herinkii, but the lack of molecular data of the former preclude a formal conclusion. The examination of the type collection of the tricharinoid Leucoscypha subimmersa gave us the opportunity to transfer it to the genus Pseudotricharina because of its microscopic characters. Finally, the revision of the type-collection of Tricharina praecox var. intermedia was determined to be the same as Ascorhizoctonia praecox. The species complex of T. hiemalis is discussed, and T. subhiemalis is proposed based on morphological and phylogenetic data. T. tophiseda which was currently only known from the type locality is also described and illustrated based on new collections. A new species from Greece, T. gilvoides, is presented in detail. Finally, a new dichotomous key to the genus Tricharina and allied genera is proposed. Three new genera are published to accommodate several species previously assigned to Trichophaea or morphologically close genera: Perilachnea gen. nov. with Lachnea hemisphaerioides as type-species, Aurantiolachnea gen. nov. with Lachnea solsequia as type-species, and Parawilcoxina gen. nov. with P. inexpectata sp. nov. as type-species. some species of the genus Paratrichophaea belong to the cleistothecial genus Lasiobolidium, and furthermore two new species, L. trachysporum and L. coprophilum, are described. Paratrichophaea macrocystis is also combined in Lasiobolidium. finally, three new species of Chaetothiersia, C. laricina, C. cupressicola and C. eguttulata are described. a new species of Perilachnea, P. ochraceoflava, is outlined from italy, and a new species of Trichophaeopsis, T. asturiensis, is described from spain. a total of 15 species are described and illustrated herein. keys are provided.
